Warm Contemporary Spec Home

Clean and contemporary lines define the style of this luxury home built on-spec in the Park Cities area of Dallas. Though this project was designed for a future buyer, the importance of creating a functional and space that would become someone’s home remained at the center of our design decisions. High-end finishes and unique, visually arresting architectural details highlight this property’s quiet elegance, creating a space that is simultaneously livable and current. To accentuate and contrast the expansive exterior steel windows and the light that comes through them, a lighter, natural color palette was selected, setting a warm and contemporary tone. We chose a stucco finish and leuders limestone for the exterior together with a slate roof to bring the warmth from the interior spaces outside to the luxurious patio and pool. In order to parallel the dynamic lines featured in the architect's plans, we specified custom floating white oak treads on a specially designed steel frame for the staircase to create engaging, dramatic angles that serve as an interesting and welcoming focal point visible through the large front exterior windows. Custom details were continued throughout the home, from the spa-inspired master bathroom, to the gourmet kitchen complete with full butler’s pantry. We never lost sight of our goal to create a home that is sleek and contemporary that also maintains an inviting and warm feel akin to the tradition of classical architecture.
