Natural Tuscan

Award Winner - 2007 Legacy of Design: Rising Star Award of Merit Kitchen

A love of nature, outdoor sports, and hunting inspired the earthy color palette and mix of natural materials in this Fort Worth area new construction residence. The handcrafted, hammered copper vent hood echoes the unique details that make this kitchen truly one of a kind. These elements, such as the fossilized fish stone back splash inset from the Cretaceous period found in Montana, work to bring the outside indoors. Over the sink an antique Tibetan, carved wood architectural art piece accents the three-toned cabinetry designed to seamlessly transition between organic materials. Large travertine tile floors and the custom coffered ceiling come together with an exposed brick fireplace complete with a screen handmade by a local Fort Worth craftsman. This gives the space a masculine, comfortable, and natural feel akin to a classic hunting lodge, without need for literal interpretation--perfect for entertaining, holidays, and family gatherings.
