This large home was reconfigured and remodeled down to the studs to create generous, light-filled spaces for the clients to enjoy with their family and friends. The previously dark rooms were transformed by adding expanses of large windows and sliding doors to bring in natural light and offer easy access to the new outdoor living areas. The original two staircases were changed into one dramatic staircase in the formal living room and a discreet elevator that is easily accessible in a central location. Additional lighting was also added throughout to provide multiple lighting “scenes” from bright task lighting to low nighttime pathways. The serene color palette was accented with playful highlights of bright turquoise, orange, green, and acid yellow, utilizing easy to care for materials and fabrics.
